The Oxylog ventilator
This video is brilliant- I have used this in many a 3am resus teaching session and although the voice starts of a bit low- its witty and informative and I actually learn something new about the oxylog every-time I watch it! Remember if you are working in resus often you will be expected to know how this works- this video does that. Enjoy!

Non invasive ventilation- CPAP and BIPAP
Confession time- This is one of my bug-bears that we don't teach this in house as routinely as we possibly did in the past- Don't get me wrong I understand that these patients will often require a higher level of care and these specialist need to be involved early nevertheless guess what the RCN competency document says...
Here is a link to another awesome video created by the fantastic educators at EM3, this #FOAMED site https://em3.org.uk

Plastering and splinting in the ED
By EM3 #Legends

This is the bread and butter of ED nursing, being able to undertake treatments to get the patient home after their clinical assessment. I often hear and see 'I cant plaster' or worse there is no nurses to do treatments and barely enough to traige/assess the patients coming through the door.

Make sure you are ahead of the game and able to undertake a range of splintage in ED from minor injury splints to resus splints so the following videos will cover a range of plastering to pelvic and femur splintage. We are hoping to record some of our own videos at a later date but we are unlikely to get any as good as these form the EM3 legends. Thanks again and why not give them a follow on twitter @EM3FOAMed
